Pre K registration started and will continue through April 5. You can register online or at enrollment offices around the city. Please click here or contact Parent Coordinator Karen Colon for more information.

Please contact Ms. Colon if you want to become a certified Learning Leader Volunteer. Training will be given on Mon, March 5; Tue, Mar 6 and Wed Mar 7 from 9-11 AM at PS20. For more more info about the program please click here.

Cook Shop started last month at PS20 for Pre-K thru 2 Grade students. Teachers received training from the Food Bank for New York City. Please ask your children about what they have learned in class. Click here to learn more about the program.

This Wednesday Decemeber 21 at 6 Pm is the monthly PTA meeting and annual Holiday Show. Each grade will perform for this event. There will be festive baked goods and other food items for sale along with a raffle. This is a great event and all members of the PS20 community are invited to attend in support of our kids and PS20.

This Friday Dec 16 is the Student/Parent of the Month Assembly at 9:30 AM (Note: this is a time change from an original start time of 9 AM) in the Audiotorium. Even if your child is not receiving a certificate it is worth it to go to the Assembly to support the students and witness school pride at its finest. The 4th Grade will sing "Silver Bells."

Please come out and support PS20 farms by buying a pumpkin Sat Oct 22 outside the restaurant Madiba (195 DeKalb Ave) The sale will be from 8 AM to 12 Noon. PS20 farms is an urban agriculture program at PS 20 that provides students with hands-on experience with urban farming and sustainability.

We are excited to announce that the Playworks Programs will be at PS 20 starting this September! Through the PTA's contribution of $5100 which was matched individually by PS20 families, We have raised enough money to fund the program for the first half of the 2011/2012 school year. Science partnership with Brooklyn college!

The program got underway February 7, which means graduate and undergraduate science students will be helping out in our classes, lending extra hands, and bringing additional energy and ideas to science at PS 20.

The 2010 PS20 Literacy Parade was a huge success as parents, staff, and excited students marched through the Clinton Hill neighborhood displaying their costumes based on literary themes. The annual parade held on October 29th this year was a culmination of a week of festive preparation. "The kids look forward to this parade every year and I like it because it allows them to become a part of the stories they love to read" said Norman whose son is in 1st grade.
