We here at PS 20 believe that school should be the focal point of the community. Located in the heart of historic brownstone Brooklyn, PS 20 is a school which embraces and nurtures all students who enter and prepares them to become productive, empowered members of a complex, changing world. We are committed to our students’ social, emotional and academic growth and strive to achieve this through building solid partnerships between home and school.  

PS20 has a dedicated and experienced teaching staff, who work hard to insure the highest quality education for their students. Classrooms are vibrant and alive with student inquiry, discovery, and hands-on projects.  Outside of the classrooms, teachers continue to study honing their pedagogical skills to best meet the needs of their students.

All students come to us with a natural curiosity for the world.  PS 20 takes that innate curiosity and turns it into a love of learning. Our goal is to develop independent thinkers who are well equipped for the challenges to come both in and out of the classroom.
