We are hiring!

The PS20 PTA is searching for a qualified candidate to teach our Green Arts Visual Arts for Pre-K to 5th grade. PS20 Green Arts is an interdisciplinary, hands-on educational approach that broadens students’ thinking and problem-solving abilities. The program is a collaboration between classroom teachers and the PS20 Arts and PS20 Gardening Programs that began in 2013.

While the position is not a DOE job, you will be hired by the PS20 PTA which is a 501c3 nonprofit organization and work collaboratively with the gardening teacher who is also employed by the PS20 PTA. PS20 teachers work closely with the program’s instructors to ensure that what the children do outside in the garden and in the art studio informs and complements the work that is done in the classroom. While students are digging in the garden and expressing themselves in the art studio, they are building on what they have learned in social studies, science and other core subjects.

SCHEDULE: Full Time - 35 hours a week; 5 periods of instruction, 1 period of prep and 1 period for lunch per day. School Day runs 8:20am - 2:40pm. 40 weeks a year.

View the Full Job Description & Application Process - The position is open until filled, but preference will be given to candidates who apply before December 15, 2022. Ideal start date January 2023.
