Congratulations Class of 2024

Dear PS 20 Graduates,

It has been incredible to see you all grow up before our eyes.  Many of you entered PS 20 when you were only 4 or 5 years old.   You came here as little kids, curious about the world around you and eager to learn.  Over the years you have become leaders of this school community, modeling for your classmates what it means to be a PS 20 student, a caring friend, an advocate and a global citizen.  The PS 20 community will miss your smiles, your humor and your leadership.

The PTA congratulates you on your accomplishments and wishes you the best of luck as you take on new challenges in the coming years.  We hope you will continue to fondly remember the time and experiences you have had here at PS 20 and maintain the friendships you made here.

Sincerely,

The PS 20 PTA Executive Board

Social Justice Run - Thank you! + Donations + Shirts

This year's Social Justice Run (SJR) and Family Picnic was a big success!   We want to thank everyone who helped support the event - our teachers and other PS20 staff, volunteers and everyone who has donated to this year's Social Justice Run. We also appreciate our event partners: Define New York Run Club, PS20 Mosaic, Futbol Rebels, Brooklyn Basketball Academy and It Takes a Village Youth Services.

Most importantly, we want to thank all of the PS20 students who participated in the SJR.  Our children rallied and ran laps around Fort Greene Park to raise awareness around child abuse, racism, police brutality, human trafficking, women's equal rights, food insecurity and a number of environmental issues.  We have some amazing young leaders in our school community!

Now that our kids did their work, we are asking for your support to help us reach our fundraising goal of $10,000! We are so close - just another $1300 to go!!
You can help by either by making a donation and/or purchasing a Social Justice Run T-Shirt.

This year, half of the funds raised from the race (after we account for the event’s costs) will be donated directly to organizations doing work to address the causes your children's classes have chosen and the other half will be saved into the PTA’s JEDI Fund. The PTA’s JEDI Fund is a valuable resource that allows us to do everything from conducting workshops to ensuring all students can participate in school activities like book fairs and field trips.

We heard from a number of parents that they loved the SJR t-Shirts and wanted to purchase them. Therefore, we will be putting in another order of SJR t-shirts (of all sizes) next week.  If you would like a t-shirt (or two or three), please click on this link and put in your order by 5pm on Wednesday, June 5.

With admiration and thanks,

PS20 PTA
