The mission of the PS20 Talent Show is to give an opportunity for students to experience the magic of developing and performing their own work live.

AUDITIONs OPEn: March 25 - MAy 1, 2024
Audition submission DEADLINE EXTENDED: Wednesday, May 1 Friday, April 26
Create your act thoughtfully
Rehearse independently
TIME LIMIT: Choose a musical selection that fits within the time limit, perform a part of the song, or rearrange your act to fit.
Video audition should be no more than 1:59 (1 minute 59 seconds)
Full act as performed on-stage can be up to 2:59 (2 minute, 59 seconds)

CRITERIA: What it takes to get in! Who gets to perform?
Grades K-5 Only
ENSEMBLE (group) acts preferred
ORIGINAL acts preferred: your own lyrics, choreography, idea, rather than performing someone else’s music/choreography
UNIQUE genres preferred
Harder to get in: Singers and dancers, especially hiphop and pop.
Easier to get in: Musicians, magicians, comedians, gymnasts, martial artists, yoyoists, puppeteers, skits“EXPERTS”: Performers should be prepared to demonstrate knowledge of their act: Who is the original performer? Who is the songwriter? Who were their influences? What else do you know about the genre?
PRO TIP: If you’re singing a cover, consider a “karaoke” recording without vocals, so we can hear your voice, and not the original singer’s voice.
REHEARSAL PERIOD: May 6 - June 13, 2024
All auditioners will be notified of their status by Monday, May 6
