We’d love some photographers! Or maybe you just like making sure an event has the best feng shui and good vibes? We’re looking for helpers for a variety of activities like set-up, managing auction and raffle, and clean up when the party winds down. Email fund@ps20.org if this sounds like you!
We need your support to sustain and expand our Green Arts program! Thanks to the ongoing support of the PTA and local partners, the 600+ students of PS20 have truly blossomed with the environmental education of Green Arts for the past 7 years: composting, digging in the dirt, planting seeds and sampling the fruits of their labors in the form of herbs, mixed greens, tomatoes, squashes and much more. Students have enriching experiences outdoors and help create flourishing spaces that enhance the greater school community and neighborhood.
This project is eligible for up to $3,000 in match funding (up to $500 per donor, through March 31, 2023) through ioby's Con Edison Power Up Neighborhood Match!
Every year, the Participatory Budgeting process allows local residents to decide how to allocate $1 million in city funding to towards projects that improve their community. This year, one of the proposed projects up for community voting is a $500,000 proposed renovation of Parham Playground, right next to P.S. 20. The proposal states:
“Currently, the playground’s equipment and water structures are not accessible for all children, and the lighting and basketball courts need safety improvements. A $500,000 allocation can help the city take one step closer to making a deep investment in enhancing accessibility and improving this playground for all children.”
Vote from March 25 through April 2 to make your voice heard and give our community playground some much-needed improvements!

📣 Voting on Candidates for the SLT
Do you want to have a direct impact on the academic goals of PS20? The School Leadership Team (SLT) consists of PS 20 family members (parents, grandparents, guardians), staff members and Admins. Members are elected for 2-year positions by their peer group — at the next PTA meeting — and then meet monthly to read, review, and discuss the school’s Comprehensive Education Plan (CEP). The CEP is a set of goals individualized for our school such as attendance, test scores, etc. and is a living document, meaning it grows and changes throughout the year with the DOE and SLT’s input. When we look at the goals, we work collaboratively to find the best possible ways to meet the goals with our unique community in mind.
Interested in joining the SLT? Email board@ps20.org by March 15.
